Back! Get Back! Down Boy!

Well, so I'm writing a short story that's taken on a life of its own.  I'm introducing Peggy, a character in a mystery I've been working on.  In a previous blog or fb book entry (don't recall which off hand) I mentioned my next Smashwords.com book will consist of three or more short stories to introduce either a character or a story.  This one is over 4000 words already.  Peggy on her highschool, graduation day which takes place about 6 years prior to when she enters the storyline of the book, is spending the day shopping and attending pre-gradnight functions.  The working title of the book in progress is "The Need For Sleep."  The working title of the short story is "Graduation Day."  I figure I'll just let this spate of writing run it's course and then apply the ol'  whitling knife with lavish.

Yeh, Sometimes I'm Quite The Sobbing Mess . . . .

So, a few Sundays ago, I woke from a very emotional dream.  I was actually a sobbing mess.  The storyline kept returning to F’Rella in my Wind Time series.  It's actually a book which will be comprised of short stories told from different points of time within the same community.  Several characters make reappearances at different points in their life.

In the scene that was in my dream F'Rella had made the choice to end her life after the death of her sworn mate, B’Radden.  The story begins with a party thrown in honor of their unborn first child.  I woke in a state of great unhappiness (yeh, mushy pillows and the whole nine yards) because I was there with her at the cliff's edge where she had intended to jump bearing her unborn child in her belly.  I think though the story is an exploration (on the surface) of the cycle of grieving.

I have this and many other snippets in work two or which are mysteries.  One of those mysteries has the working title of Pumpkin Head.  I have The Wind Time series of short stories in work and also a vampire story with the working title of Bloodily Discharged.  I have a couple short stories in work which do double duty to introduce several of my characters in the aforementioned pieces in work.  I'm trying to wrap my mind around a short story to introduce the people in my Wind Time series community and I think I'll do a piece which starts at the beginning of how their community came to be.

Emotional Ties and Inspiration Sources; Dreams.

So, one morning I awoke with tears streaming down my face.  I was a sobbing mess.  And this all because I knew the ending of one of the short stories I needed to write.  I'm challenged when it comes to titles but I do have a working title.  I'm working on a piece that consists of short stories revolving around a community in a future timeline.  These short stories focus on life events at different spaces of time within the community.  There are a few characters you'll meet who will show up at different stages of their maturation.  I'm hoping I can pull this off.  I've got three of the stories in the stew so to speak and hope to finish one before starting a fourth.  Perhaps I'll post a few snippets here and there of what's coming up.

I kinda got off track with this.  Do any of you find that your emotions take over in a situation and you really feel anger or sadness or even tearfulness at some stage in contemplating your story.

Okay I'm Moving In!

My oh, my it's dusty around heah!  But, I'm getting moved in and hope to maintain this with a certain amount of regularity.  You'll also find me at:

1.  Facebook
2.  Live Journal
3.  Smashwords

I'll be stopping back in again soon.
